推荐教材:Eugene Hecht所著《Optics》、 Grant R. Fowles所著《Introduction to Modern Optics》。 Display Optics will be taught in English and focused on fundamental physical and optical knowledge related to different types of information display technology. This course contained eight topics including understanding wave and electro-magnetic wave; light in matter, refractive index and absorption; polarization of light and its conversion; Johns Matrix and its use in LCD; light generation, photon, and OLED; geometrical optics, ray optics, and imaging system, and projection type display; vision and display; color and display. The type of “semi-flipped class” was adopted which has been proved as one very efficient studying method and offers the chance to help students to think, practice, and improve their study ability. This course would not only introduce related fundamental knowledge systematically but also offer information about the latest progress and the future of information display in both academic world and industry. Recommended textbooks for reference: “Optics” by Eugene Hecht and “Introduction to Modern Optics” by Grant R. Fowles.
