This mini-course surveys museums in Europe and North America and the stories they tell with their most famous national treasures as well as some lesser-known keys to understanding western culture. We'll look at the evolving role of museums in society, from research to educational institutions, community platforms, and resources for individual health and well-being. Along the way, we'll discover new ways to enjoy museums everywhere and use them as places to recharge and reconnect with what is most rewarding about being human.
